Summertime French Blancs
We’re exploring the sunny side of four French blancs… chilled and Summer ready! We’ll start by the Atlantic with a fresh, mineral-driven Muscadet, then head south to Roussillon for a bright, citrusy Vermentino. From there, up to the Loire for a crisp and vibrant Sancerre Rosé, and we’ll finish in the Jura with a richer, more layered white that offers something a little unexpected. It’s a great mix of fresh, textured, and expressive wines to taste side by side.

Selection des Cognettes, Muscadet Loire Valley, France $20
Melon du Bourgogne is the grape of the Muscadet Region in Eastern Loire Valley, butted against the Atlantic Ocean where minerality is key. Muscadet is always aged on the lees for at least 9 months to help give the wine texture. The nose has a nice intensity and freshness. Aaromas of acacia and rose, citrus fruit and white peach. Fresh and slightly mineral, with a beautiful structure.
Cazes, “‘Rolle’ in Stone” Vermentino Roussillon, France $23
Rolle is a French synonym for Vermentino. Grown on the sun-warmed slopes of the Côtes-Catalanes in Roussillon. The wine is gently pressed, fermented in stainless steel, and bottled early to capture its brightness and tension rather than overly ripe richness. The focus is on purity of fruit and vineyard expression—not dramatic extraction. Aromas of white peach, acacia flower and lemon zest open the glass. On the palate, citrus and subtle stonefruit ride along a vivid seam of minerality and saline lift. The finish is clean and poised with just enough texture to linger.
Reverdy, “Maimbray” Sancerre Rosé Loire Valley, France $33
A highly acclaimed, 100% Pinot Noir Rosé from Sancerre. Revered for its elegance, it offers bright wild strawberry, citrus, and crushed stone mineral notes. Mineral-accented aromas of strawberry, raspberry, and red currant. These are balanced by a crisp, bone dry palate with orange zest, tangerine, citrus blossom, and a prominent chalky dryness on the finish. Fantastic!
Fumey Chatelain, Blanc d’Arbois Jura, France $45
A blend of Chardonnay from different parcels at different elevation and soil composition across the region of Arbois in the Jura, just East of Burgundy. Jura is known for crazy Chardonnay. Full bodied, rich, oxidized, and showing stone fruit more than butter. This is a late bottling (Mise Tardive) release, and has seen a total of 30 months of aging in a combination of stainless still, barrel and foudre. Notes of lemon and green apples and white flowers, vibrant acid. The Marl and Limestone soils leaving their salty fingerprint here.
