Lucius, Chillable Mourvèdre Snipes Mountain, Washington $21
Lucius, from Andrew Latta, takes its name from his great-grandfather. The wine is from Snipes Mountain in central Yakima. The ‘M’ in ‘GSM’ is Mourvèdre, a late-ripening grape with roots tied to Spain, France, and the broader Mediterranean. It brings dark fruit, peppery savoriness, and a meaty edge. This bottling is 100% Mourvèdre bright and fresh with energetic fruit. This bottling reveals a bold and wild side. Bouncing off the walls with bright fruitful energy and just enough savory notes.
Among the Giants, Merlot Goose Gap, Washington $21
Among the Giants wine collection celebrates the Goose Ridge Estate Vineyard and newly designated AVA Goose Gap, just south of Red Mountain. A layered bouquet, harmonizing rich toasted undertones with lively notes of ripe plum, raspberry, and fresh herbs. Full bodied, rich and dense. The palate offers strawberry, currant, and a vibrant minerality and sun-baked stone essence. A long finish with a stony minerality. Fantastic.
Camaraderie Cellars, Cabernet Franc Port Angeles! Via Yakima, Washington $28
Camaraderie Cellars is located in Port Angeles, Washington on the Olympic Peninsula. Camaraderie Cellars has been recognized for over 25 years making quality and award winning wines. Camraderie, Cabernet Franc just won Best of Show and a Gold Medal in the NW Division at the annual Cabernet Franc only competition held in California! Nice and earthy with hints of cherry fruit running through, notes of truffle and mushrooms, very Bordeaux-ish, clean finish.
Fidelitas, 4040 Red Mountain! Yakima, Washington $31
The “forty-forty” red blend is inspired by the 4,040 acres that comprise Red Mountain. Five classic Bordeaux grapes, led by Cabernet Sauvignon, drive this red blend. The aroma is of red plum, blackberry, and baking spices. The tannins are rich and plush, with a classic dusty Red Mountain finish. There are notes of black cherry, dark chocolate, and cola. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 6% Malbec, 6% Petit Verdot, 4% Cabernet Franc.
