 Humble Vine

Wednesday, November 12th

2-8 PM

Wine Tasting: $25

Itä, Carbonic Zinfandel         Walla Walla, Washington   $29

Treated like Beaujolais wines of France this one undergoes Carbonic maceration. (sealing the grapes in a tank filled with CO₂, which causes fermentation to begin inside each intact berry, creating a softer, fruitier wine) Lighter-bodied than typical Zinfandel, showing racy acidity and freshness, with restrained oak and lively aromatics. Expect a tangy, crunchy red profile best enjoyed slightly chilled. So fresh and so clean aromas of strawberries, violets and fennel, tart raspberry, and black, black pepper and crunchy cacao nibs.

Ancient Peaks, Zinfandel           Paso Robles, California   $19

Crushed raspberry, sandalwood, vanilla cream and coffee. A soft, spicy mouthfeel unfolds with juicy flavors of strawberry, cherry, brambleberry and black plum. Secondary hints of dried rosemary and earthy leather bring added complexity to the wine’s fruit-forward character, while peppery notes linger on a smooth, rounded finish. A Zinfandel of depth and finesse.

Two Vintners, “StoneTree” Zinfandel Columbia Valley, Washington   $29

When Zinfandel first entered the lineup at Two Vintners it raised some eyebrows. Originally intended to be a one off wine in 2008, it has now become one of their most sought after bottlings. Big brambly fruits, accented by the notes of spices, and held together with some sneaky tannins. This is a continuation of the house style that our fans have come to know and love.

Dry Creek Vineyards, “Heritage Vines” Zinfandel     Sonoma, California $26

First coined by Dry Creek Vineyard in 1987, the term “Old Vine” refers to vines 50+ years old. Some of the vines on the property are over 100!

Aromas of black cherry, plum, and boysenberry, layered with baking spice, white pepper, and cocoa. Palate shows brambly dark berries, mocha, cedar, and vibrant acidity, with a rich yet smooth finish. Blend: typically 80% Zinfandel, 19% Petite Sirah, 1% Carignan barrel aged 14 months in French, Hungarian and American oak; 28% new.

Time: 2pm - 8pm or until the bottles run dry!
