Colutta, Prosecco $19
Starting the night off right with this delicious Prosecco made with the grape Glera! Who doesn’t like bubbles? It is light, refreshing with mild acidity. Lemon zest and a breath of wet stone that calms the nerves. Colutta makes wines that are in a powerful and graceful dance.
Fattoria Uccelliera, Ginepraia, Tuscany $21
Here we go. Down the rabbit hole of Super-Tuscans. A blend of 70% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet and 15% Petit Verdot. The flavors trend towards black cherries, cassis, and lemon peel. On the palate the wine tends to be fruity, with notable tannins, and some acidity. The color is a wonderful dark ruby yielding lots of heat. A great wine!
Fattoria Uccelliera, Poggio Alle Pietre $32
Bangin’ Italian blend wonderful red wine made up of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet and 10% Alicante Bouschet. Complex harmony of aromas ranging from very ripe red fruit (especially plum and cherry) to fresh spices. Vigorous and refined wine, savory and fruity in the finish.
Fattoria Uccelliera, Castellaccio $36
Sangiovese 60% – Cabernet Sauvignon 40%. This beauty will blow your mind! Complex. Intense. The nose has blueberry, blackberry, ripe plum, jam, a lot of spices, cloves, vanilla, oak, mint, and tobacco. Complex texture. Velvety intense dry taste with great balance, high acidity, powerful tannins, full body, cherry, herbs, and balsamic.
Colutta, Picolit $60
This amazing after dinner wine offers well-integrated notes of maple syrup, honey and dark molasses. It also has light floral aromas that add a soft, feminine touch and that would pair well with almond-based desserts. The mouthfeel is chewy with good length and freshness. I want to pour it onto my clothes and hair so I can smell like it forever.
