Arts a Glow

Arts-A-Glow

An amazing Burien event

I saw this event when we were looking into moving into this great neighborhood. I was blown away by the uniqueness and extravagance of color. The flow of the parade, the music, the art displays in the park, and the stunning lights all contoured around the marvel of the contrasting dark. Do yourself a favor and see the “Arts A Glow” in action tonight. Festivities are at Dottie Harper Park. In celebration, we can offer wines that are extravagant and unique in their own rights.

Tonight @ Humble Vine, 4pm till the bottles are dry…..

Spindrift, Pinot Gris, Oregon $16

Lively floral aromas of crushed pineapple. Varietal purity is in play, as it offers green apple and pear flavors. A light hint of Meyer lemon finishes with lingering flavors filling your palate. Whole cluster pressed and fermented in 100% stainless steel tanks with a long cool fermentation to retain fruit flavors and aromas. Certified Salmon Safe winery.

Abacela, Albarino, Oregon $18

Albarino is a delicate Spanish white grape that grows well in our estate vineyards. It produces an assertive, dry wine characterized by beautiful floral aromas and fruity flavors that finishes with refreshing acidity.

Prodigo, Nero D'Avola Appasimento, Italy $14

Aromas of ripe dark-skinned fruit and a whiff of exotic spice lead the nose on this straightforward red. The medium-bodied palate offers prune, mature black cherry and a hint of star anise alongside dusty, but rather fleeting tannins that leave a tongue-drying finish.

Grifalco, “Gricos” Aglianico De Vulture, Italy $25

Fabrizio and Cecilia Piccin hail from Tuscan but settled in the Basilicata region to make distinct Aglianico wines starting in 2004. The vineyards are deeply rooted in the volcanic soils of the area and they've planted vines high up at over 1000 feet asl. Aglianico is always on the bolder side, this is vibrant, structured yet pure. A brief passage in two year old barrels allows further for the wine to settle.

Syncline, Subduction Red, Washington $24

Washington version of a Cotes-du-Rhone Villages wine. A blend of classic southern French varieties that are unique and expressive on their own; yet each contributes to create a harmonious whole. This charming, ruby colored wine displays raspberry, black cherry, and spice aromas with bright acidity. The mid-palate is juicy with excellent length.
