Wines from Beyond

Wines from beyond

Imagine if you will… a different dimension of wines. A world so unique you can’t remember if you have heard the whispers of their name, or if it was just a dream… May I present, from the beyond: two sparkling wines, and three reds. The twins in the hallway are an Italian fruity bubble and the rare grape Wildebacher with a sparkling rose edge. Then to compare the grapes of the inky Petit Verdot and the black Petite Sirah from California. But don’t be afraid of the beastly Washington Darling… the “Purple Haze”. Wines from beyond the realm.

@ Humble Vine, Saturday October 12th 4pm till the bottles disappear

Ice Klub, Kool Bubbles, Vento Italy $14

A fruity bubbly that is sure to kick up dusty notes of holidays past. A nectar driven sparkler that is fresh an apple skin carved in an orchard. Honeysuckle, honey, and apple pie! Mmmm.

Col Sandago, Blue Wildebacher Brut Rose Spumante, Veneto Italy $23

Fine sparkling rose wine from the Veneto! The dry and harmonious Rosé Brut smells clearly of wild strawberries and rose petals and has a great full bubble (spumante). Dry, clean, and crisp. Gorgeous bottle if you’re into keeping Genies.

Matchbook, Petit Verdot, Dunnigan Hills California, $17

This Grape is dark, Minerally and tannic. Compare the same notes to the next wine. This wine offers beautiful, soft, black fruit flavors, plum, cherry and blueberry, in a velvety body full of clove and brown spices, violets and a pinch of gunflint.

Matchbook, Petite Sirah, Dunnigan Hills California, $17

This is a well-structured, age worthy red wine that surrounds ripe lush blackberry and maple flavors with fine-grained tannins and full body. It is big and bold on the palate and will show its best stuff with a juicy chop or steak.

Darby, Purple Haze, Columbia Valley Washington $21

Washington’s most fun cult wine. Always sells out ridiculously fast! A Bordeaux blend that is dense and rich with a muscular mix of dark currant, cherry, and plum with a hint of cedar. Silky smooth and seductive, you will want to make sure you have at least a few bottles in the house.  Aged in 30% new French oak for 18 months.
