Deep ruby and polished, with aromas of blackberry, plum, cassis, tobacco leaf, cedar, and violets; the palate leans silky and structured, with blackcurrant, dark cherry, anise, and fine tannins. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
No Es Pituko, Cabernet Sauvignon Curicó Valley, Chile $19
Family winemaking roots stretch back to the 1700’s and winery operations formalized in 1930. Juicy black cherry, blackberry, plum, floral lift, and a fresh, crunchy feel; the palate is grippy, bright, and persistent with firm tannins. The label’s name means “not fancy” and the wines are bottled in a minimal-intervention, recyclable style.
La Lomita, Cabernet Sauvignon Valle de Guadalupe, Baja, Mexico $28
La Lomita is one of the wineries helping define the contemporary Baja wine scene. Founded in 2009 by Fernando Pérez Castro. A bold and balanced profile of fresh fruit, cherry, plum, and a backbone of refreshing acidity, soft tannin, and round texture. neutral French oak 10 months.
Powers, “Sheridan” Cabernet Sauvignon Yakima, Washington $36
Powers has been highlighted for its organic leadership and for consistently treating Sheridan as a flagship site for Cabernet in Washington. The Sheridan Vineyard is prized for producing concentrated, elegant Cabernet with strong acidity and structure. Notes of dried cherry, plum, mocha, dark chocolate, garden herbs, baking spice, black fruit, cedar, and a touch of minerality.
