Ancient Peaks, Sauvignon Blanc Paso Robles, California $18
Paso Robles ripe, leading with a bouquet of lime and passion fruit. A zesty and tropical attack with fresh ginger, grapefruit, gooseberry, guava, lime, nectarine, and white flowers. A hint of orange marmalade on the juicy finish.
Massican, Pinot Grigio Napa, California $30
This wine blew me away. Fresh, bright, and zesty Pinot Grigio, with tropical fruits and a delightful acidity. This wine is lively, with aromas of guava, papaya, citrus and dried apricot on the nose. The flavors on the palate are apricot, orange cream and pink grapefruit zest, interwoven with dried herbs, white tea and a dry, mouthwatering finish.
Lapis Luna, Red Blend Lodi, California $16
Established in 1999, Lapis Luna translates to “stone” and “moon”. Lead winemaker Nicole Walsh is a respected leader in the ‘Women Owned Winery Movement’. This red blend from Lodi is California is crimson in the glass with aromas of dark chocolate, cherry, blackberry and roasted coffee. Rich and full textured on the palate with profound dark fruit. Good tannins and a great finish.
Language of Yes, Cuvee Sinso Santa Maria Valley, California $30
A decidedly lighter purple drank, or “vin de soif”. High-toned and expressive notes of black raspberry, cherry, and herb over an earthy backdrop. Bright with red and black berry fruit, sour cherry and cranberry lift, citrus peel, and minimal overt oak, designed to echo Southern French/Mediterranean reds. 64% Cinsaut, 26% Syrah, 6% Grenache, 3% Tannat, 1% Viognier
