Oregon Reds
Reds from Oregon! We try 2 unique reds from the Columbia Gorge, then to a Pinot Noir from the Willamette, then finally a mostly Oregon Red Blend (OK….just a pinch of Washington grapes, but close enough for Horseshoes and Hand Grenades!) Come check them out!

Ovum, EZY TGR Chillable Red Columbia Gorge, Oregon $23
Nerd Alert! Inspired by the Palhete wines of Portugal. 50% Early Muscat, 50% Co-fermented Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Mencia. Own-rooted vines grown in volcanic soils. Red Jolly Rancher explodes from the glass immediately after the first pour. Pomegranate molasses and Bing cherry follow along with hints of bay leaf and roasted beets. Light-to medium-bodied, there’s a shocking pop of minerality. The finish is easy and simple.
Argyle, “Bloomhouse” Pinot Noir Willamette Valley, Oregon $26
Inspired by the wildflowers from their vineyards and the fragrant sweet stone fruit blossom aromas during harvest. Ruby red cherry fades into dark fruit at the edges with hints of rich earthy undertones. A pretty bouquet with a silky texture, vibrant and juicy acidity with classic silky tannins.
Cutter Cascadia, “Ashes to ashes” Dolcetto Columbia Gorge, Oregon $29
Another stunner from winemaker, Michael Garofola. Ashes to Ashes is 100% Dolcetto, sourced from a high-elevation site in the western Hood River Valley. Michael does all the labor-intensive handwork at this tiny half-acre block, and it shows. The partially-carbonic wine is juicy, with a bit of earthiness and a touch of smoke, all tied together with the grape’s characteristic lifting acidity.
Maison Noir, Horseshoes and Handgrenades Oregon $24
From radical Wine maker Andre Mac. Exuding flavors of dark berries, cherries, and a hint of spice. This wine has a robust structure and a smooth finish, encapsulating a harmonious blend of flavors that captivate the palate. Horseshoes & Handgrenades is fruit-driven, full-bodied complex red blend sourced from Southern Oregon and Red Mountain Washington. The rich, ripe, voluptuous fruit comes from Oregon Syrah with just enough Washington Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot to give it complexity and structure.
