HELLoween Week
This weeks’ wine tasting will encompass the week of Halloween, a full moon, and the election! Jeez, I already need a drink… Well wet your whistle with these fine wines that are strong enough to help you forget about the world outside. A batch of full bodied, USA wines, that are scary delicious. I have been giddy with delight about this whole set recently. So, get on in here to treat yourself and trick your senses.

Dowsett Family, Gewurztraminer, Columbia Gorge WA, $16
A dry Gewurztraminer blend of Oak Ridge and Celilo Vineyards. Planted in the 1980’s, it is fermented in tank and barrel. Bottled and released early to showcase the intense aromatics of young Gewurztraminer, it can stand up to foods which are difficult to pair.
Grosgrain, Blush Angiolina Farm, Yakima Valley WA, $21
100 % Grenache. Lightly treaded by foot and then whole-cluster pressed from Grenache farmed specifically for Rosé. Matured primarily in concrete egg and on the lees. Pale salmon hue with notes of fresh strawberry, ripe peach, lilac, and wet stone.
Anne Amie Vineyards, Gamay Noir, Chehalem Mountains OR, $25
Inspired by Gamay from both France and Oregon, our Twelve Oaks Estate Gamay Noir is made in the traditional manner, utilizing both carbonic and extended maceration. This results in an age worthy wine brimming with ripe, dark berry flavors, lithe tannin and lively acidity.
Mark Ryan, Monkey Wrench, Columbia valley WA, $36
Monkey Wrench delivers quality, at an appealing price. This Bordeaux blend is accessible to drink today, with the depth to cellar for years to come. Presenting with dark, luscious black fruits on the nose, progresses into cherry, baking spice, and blueberry compote on the palate.
