Light and Powerful
Like a middleweight boxer, these wines are medium bodied but PACKED full of flavor. Starting with at the top of the list with Champagne! Bubbly and toasty! Then we are led to 2 French whites that are excellent examples of their regions – Macon, and Sancerre! For reds we dive down to a southern region of Languedoc France. And the cherry on top is a baby Super -Tuscan, Sangiovese with Cabernet from Italy. Try them all out

Magic Door, Champagne, France $39
A well-balanced and layered Champagne with expressive aromas of apple and white pear along with more subtle notes of almond, buttered toast and baking spices. SOO GOOOOD!!!!
Joseph Drouhin, Macon-Village, France $15
A clean, crisp, very dry styled Chardonnay, with nice acidity balanced by a fresh fruit palate filled with crisp pear and granny smith apple flavors
Domaine Girard, Sancerre , Francde $25
The nose wafts from the glass in an extroverted blend of gooseberry, lime, damp grass, chalky soil tones and a touch of orange peel in the upper register. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, focused and complex, with fine mid-palate depth, lovely focus and grip and a long, balanced and racy finish. Classic Sancerre.
Notre Dame de Laval, Red Blend, France $10
The wine begins with a nose combining brambly raspberry and blackberry fruit with wonderful earthy/gamey/wild Carignan notes and black-olive subtleties from the Syrah. The fruit extract on the palate is just fantastic for a $10 wine. In its inky, palate-staining character, it acts very much texturally like wines that cost two or three times as much.
Avignonesi, Cantaloro, Tuscany Italy Italy $19
A versatile young red wine with lots of ripe fruit intertwined with scents of Mediterranean herbs and sweet spices. Med+ bodied, dense... a wine for a dark evening. Black cherry, blackcurrant, prunes, chocolate bitterness, herbs and medium, sweet finish with tobacco notes.
