WINE TASTING:: Wilridge Winery

Wilridge Winery

Michael is going to pour FANTASTIC wines from Wilridge Vineyards. They are a winery I met whilst walking through Pike Place Market last summer. So now we have them in our house to show off their delicious portfolio from Washington.

Wilridge is a small family vineyard, orchard, winery and distillery operated in the European tradition.  Founded in 1988, Wilridge continues to be the oldest operating winery in Seattle.  In 2007, Wilridge planted its certified Organic and Biodynamic Estate Vineyard on Naches Heights near Yakima, Washington. Wilridge continues to produce award-winning wines.

 WILRIDGE IS THE "GREENEST WINERY™" IN WASHINGTON AND IS PROUD TO BE THE FIRST CERTIFIED ORGANIC, BIODYNAMIC AND SALMONSAFE VINEYARD AND WINERY IN THE STATE.

@ Humble Vine, Wednesday, May 1st 4pm

Pinot Grigio, $19

Bright, clean, fresh tropical and citrus fruit flavors with crisp acidity and a lovely finish that lingers and changes. Pairs well with creamy, cheesy, shellfish and pasta or all by itself on a warm summer day.

Tempranillo, $24

Cherry, plum and tomato flavors dominate with sub tones of leather, tobacco, vanilla, and clove. This wine has firm tannins and crisp acidity that pairs well with roasts and grilled anything. Aged at least 18 months is used French oak barrels.

Syrah, $25

Dark color, ripe plum nose, blackberry flavors linger into the silky-smooth finish. From the Crawford Vineyard; 80 acres of 17-year-old vines of Crawford Vineyard sitting just outside of Prosser. 90% Syrah 10% Cabernet

Touriga National, $25

This is a seldom-seen variety in the state. The aromas are brooding, with high-toned notes of dried herb, barrel spice and potpourri along with red fruit. The fruit flavors are tart and plump, soft and sumptuous, showing a pleasing sense of purity.

Estate Zweigelt, $38

Austria's most widely planted red varietal, Zweigelt is well suited to the higher altitude and proximity to the Cascade Mountains of Wilridge Vineyard. This was a chance discovery that has become a unique and amazing experience from our own organic, biodynamic vineyard in Naches Heights. 70 cases produced!
