CRU SELECTIONS!!!

Corey from Cru selections will be back with a slice of his amazing portfolio. To start the evening, we try 2 sparkling wines. Then just a single still white. But then we turn up the heat with 3 zesty reds. Gamay, Pinot Noir and Grenache!!  Real cool wines, real cool info, real cool guests…if you show up!! So, we will see you tomorrow!!

@ Humble Vine, Saturday November 23th 4pm.

Allimant Laugner, Cremant d’Alsace $26

The grapes are harvested earlier than others to preserve the fresh aromas of citrus and white flowers. This sparkling rose is made exclusively from Pinot Noir, displaying a pale pink color with a lovely freshness on the palate and hints of red fruits. Expressive nose, it has character with beautiful fine bubbles.

Domaine d’Henri”821” Blanc de Blanc Brut Nature $35

821 days, or 27 months, is how long it took to make this wine. From the beginning of the growing season to the time the bottle leaves the facility. Created in the Brut Nature style, which means they add no dosage (sugar) and never take out the cork, like they do in Champagne.

Capitello, Pinot Gris $18

All the way from the Willamette valley, we have a Pinot Gris that is Racy Lively, and fresh. With notes of citrus zest, honeysuckle, yellow apples and peaches. Much like its Italian sister, the Pinot Grigio, it has a nice spicy peppery finish.

Vignobles Bulliat, Amphora Morgon $33

Family succession, low-yielding 100 year old vines with small grapes. Old-fashioned winemaking, and the barrels make it a rich and full-bodied wine with a nice tannic presence and a nice fruity background. Elegant dress of a deep garnet. This wine will develop fragrances of cherries and violets over time. Aged in Amphora for an extended period. WOW!!!

Michel Gros, Hautes Cotes De Nuits, Burgundy FR, 2015. $35

Ruby in color. Intensely aromatic and expressive with more fruit forward notesof cherries and raspberries. Subtle notes of smoke and vanilla, clove and all spice. Very complex and juicy mouthfeel with subtle cola notes and very fine grain tannins. Nice acidity to hold on everything. Beautifully crafted and elegant.

Chateau Montfecon, Baron Luis Lirac, Rhone Valley $24

Their best selection of Lirac, 45% Grenache and the balance made of 5 other varieties. Nice salinity and finesse. Good texture with defined fruits and energy. This is a benchmark Lirac, a fine addition to our range.
