Boffalora Umo, Rosso di Valtellina, Italy
This is a light, feminine style in my palate history. From a cool climate Valtellina. Letting the grape speak for itself. The nose has that rose, light tar. The palate is sour raspberry / cherry. Sour gummies. Acidity is off the charts.
Damiano Ciolli, “Silene”, Cesanese di Olevano, Rome, Lazio, Italy
Cesanese is a grape variety used to make red wines in Italy's Lazio wine region. It is used mostly in the production of still red wines with bright fruit characters and some earthy overtones, and is considered by many to be one of Lazio's most interesting grape varieties
Sergio Arcuri, “Aris”, Ciro Classico Superiore, Calabria, Italy
Ciro is a DOC of the Calabria wine region in deepest southern Italy. Aris uses Gaglioppo, a southern Italian grape variety best known for producing soft red wines from the mountainous Ciro.
La Vigna, Montepulciano D'Abruzzo, Italy
Deep ruby color, with purple shadows. The bouquet shows rose, delicate red fruits similar to currant and raspberry, pepper, clove and accents of brush. Medium-bodied, in the mouth is velvety, with hints of cherry, blueberry and licorice, with fresh and energetic tannins that permeates the entire sips
Paltrinieri, Sant'Agata, Lambrusco di Sorbara, Italy
Fruity, fresh and frothy, this savory red opens with a lovely fragrance of violet, iris and woodland berry. The tangy, refreshing palate doles out raspberry, strawberry, baking spice and a hint of nectarine zest.
