Roussillon Road Trip

Welcome to Roussillon, where France starts feeling a little more like Spain. Tucked between the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees, this sunny, windy corner of southern France is packed with old vines, rocky soils, and a strong Catalan streak. Tonight we’re starting with two bright whites before wandering into two rustic reds—all four showing why Roussillon might be one of France’s most underrated wine regions.

@ Humble Vine

Wednesday, October 7th

HOURS: 2 PM - 8 PM

Wine Tasting: $25

Lafage, Côté Est — $18
The Lafage family has deep roots in Roussillon, farming vineyards between the Mediterranean and Pyrenees. Made primarily from Grenache Blanc with Chardonnay and Roussanne, it is fermented and aged in stainless steel on the lees with no oak. White peach, pear, citrus, and flowers with a fresh, slightly saline finish.

Olivier Pithon, Mon P’Tit Pithon Blanc — $24

Olivier Pithon left the Loire for the tiny Roussillon village of Calce, where he became known for organic and biodynamic farming. A blend of Macabeu, Grenache Blanc, and Grenache Gris, fermented and aged in stainless steel with no oak. Pear, citrus, yellow apple, and Mediterranean herbs finish with a lovely salty freshness.

D’Ansignan, Petites Grappes — $30
Domaine d’Ansignan farms the rugged Agly Valley, where old vines grow among rocky soils and plenty of Mediterranean sunshine. A blend of Carignan, Grenache, and Syrah, with Carignan taking the lead and bringing plenty of old-vine personality. Blackberry, cherry, dried herbs, pepper, and earthy minerality make this wonderfully rustic.

Depeyre, Côtes du Roussillon Villages — $28
Founded in 2002, Domaine Depeyre farms vineyards around Cases-de-Pène, Espira, and Vingrau in northern Roussillon. Made from 50% Syrah, 25% Carignan, and 25% Grenache, with traditional fermentation and some lots seeing barrel aging. Dark and rustically ripe with blackberry, cassis, pepper, herbs, and a touch of earthy leather, alongside firm tannins. Three classic Roussillon grapes all fighting for attention—and we're happy to referee.

Time: 2pm - 8pm or until the bottles run dry!
