Avennia

WAugust is Washington Wine Month!!!

Our Final Tasting for August Wine Wine Month…

and we are not messing around…

We are bringing in one of our favorite wineries: Avennia!!

Old World Inspiration. Proudly Washington.

Avennia was founded on the passion to showcase Washington as a unique and compelling place for great wines. Their priority is to acquire fruit from some of the finest vineyards in Washington, and allow them to express themselves. They chose to focus on the grape varieties used in Bordeaux and the Rhône, as their similar latitude to Washington makes them a natural fit to excel here.

 Humble Vine

Wednesday, August, 27th

2-8 PM

Wine Tasting: $25

“Oliane”  Sauvignon Blanc         $30

Hot DAWG!!   I love e this Sauvy-B….

Oliane is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, barrel fermented using native yeast and bottled unfined. Our intent for this wine is to clearly express the richness and complexity this noble grape is capable of in Washington. "Lively aromas of citrus and nectarine, passion fruit, citrus pith, sun dried straw, white flowers, crushed oyster shell. There’s a combination of silkiness and structure on the palate that’s notable for this vintage, with flavors of white peach, tangerine, lemon balm, dried herbs, and hints of chalk dust.

“Lydian” G/S/M         $29

Lydian was established as a new label few Avennia, in 2019, as a new way to experience Washington wine of quality AND quantity, but not sacrificing quality that tastes, ummm.. cheap.    The team behind the fast-rising success of Avennia brings you another delicious wine that serves as an introduction to a lifetime of wine appreciation and a fresh take on Washington terroir.Berry, spice, dry, and delicious.

“Gravura” (Cab driven Bordeaux grape red blend)     $48

Every wine is a story waiting to be told; our philosophy is to gently guide it to its best expression. Gravura is dedicated to the artisan aspect of winemaking. This blend is inspired by the wines of the Graves region in Bordeaux, emphasizing balance, complexity, and above all, deliciousness.

Leads with red cherry reduction, red plum, fresh red currants, melted milk chocolate, graphite, fresh violet, and lightly singed thyme. Nicely fresh and balanced on the palate, accented with red fruits, cocoa powder, and river mineral notes that show off the lively, food-friendly character that is a hallmark of this vintage. Give this another couple of years to show its best, and enjoy over the following decade plus. 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc. Native yeast fermentation in concrete and steel. Aged 20 months in 45% new French oak. Bottled unfined, unfiltered.

“Arnaut” Syrah      $65

Showing beautiful and complex savory aromas of dark plum, fresh-picked blackberry, oil-cured Kalamata olives, dried mesquite, menthol, salted licorice, and rubbed thyme. It is quite burly on the palate, with inky essences of black plum, smoked meats, black olive, wild herbs, and an intense stony minerality. Shows a fine structure with great tension on the palate. It’s worth waiting a few years for this wine to settle into 15 years or so of great drinking.

Time: 2pm - 8pm or until the bottles run dry!
