Washington
We are diving into Washington wines for a fun showcase of the wines in our own backyard! We'll start with two crisp, mineral-driven whites. From there, we'll transition into two red blends, beginning with a classic Bordeaux-style blend, and we’ll finish with a Portuguese style red that's perfect for this time of year.

The Walls, Stanley Groovy White “Lip Stinger” Walla Walla, Washington $29
The Walls is a project by winemaker Morgan Lee, who cut his teeth at some of Washington’s top wineries, and this wine is named after his dad, Stanley – “Groovy” is a nod to his laid-back, feel-good vibe. This zippy, aromatic white from The Walls is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, grown in Washington’s Horse Heaven Hills, and it’s all about bright citrus, green apple, and a touch of tropical fruit, lime zest, grapefruit, and a hint of passionfruit. There’s a subtle herbal lift and a clean, racy finish that makes it feel like a lip-stinging squeeze of fresh lemon.
Avennia, “Oliane” Sauvignon Blanc Yakima, Washington $29
A refined, Old World–inspired Sauvignon Blanc crafted from fruit sourced in both Red Mountain and the Yakima Valley. This wine emphasizes texture and subtlety over overt grassiness or grapefruit notes, finishing with an elegant, saline edge. Fermented and aged in neutral oak and concrete, it gains depth and roundness without any overt oak influence. It has calm, peachy grace of Sancerre, balanced by lively acidity characteristic of Washington Sauv Blancs. It’s got Riz, no cap.
Gilbert Wines, Left Bank Red Columbia Valley, Washington $23
We love family owned Gilbert Cellars. This Bordeaux style red blend is crafted from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc grown in Washington’s Columbia Valley. It is medium bodied and balanced, it offers ripe plum and black cherry flavors with hints of cassis, soft tannins, and subtle notes of cedar and baking spice. Aaand it has a fancy wrapper!
The Walls, Stanley Groovy Red Mountain, Washington $33
A juicy, easy-drinking red that is fun, and food-friendly. Built around Portuguese grapes from Red Mountain! It’s full-bodied, with ripe plum, black cherry, blueberry, a touch of chocolate, and a peppery, savory edge that keeps it lively, wild strawberries, graphite, tobacco, and scorched earth.. An eclectic blend of 43% Touriga Nacional, 15% Tempranillo, 10% Souzao, 10% Tinta Cao, and the rest a mix of Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet, and Counoise. Brought up in 20% new oak.
