Baron Fuentes, “Tradition” Brut Champagne Champagne, France $43
A family‑run grower‑producer based in Charly‑sur‑Marne. Gabriel Baron married Dolorès Fuenté and received a small vineyard plot as a wedding gift; the couple then founded the house, combining their names into “Baron‑Fuenté. 70% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, with no Pinot Noir in this cuvée. The wine spends around 2 years on the lees in bottle before disgorgement, which gives it a rounded, supple texture and subtle brioche complexity. Discreet and elegant, with ripe, confit or stewed apricot, pear, apple and a touch of honey. A subtle floral lift and a hint of candied citrus or dried fruit, giving it a slightly exotic, generous aromatic profile
Charles Saller, Brut Champagne Champagne France $48
This grower Champagne, crafted by the Kubler family. With vines located in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, this Champagne captures the elegance and refinement of the region. Expect delightful aromas of white fruit with a subtle yeasty hint of brioche. On the palate, it has a velvety feel with perfectly integrated bubbles and a fruity finish. The structure combines vivacity with complex fruity flavors, complemented by distinguished toasty notes. 70% Pinot Meunier, 15% Pinot Noir, 15% Chardonnay, Vegan & Sustainable
Nominee Renard, Brut Rose Champagne Champagne, France $62
A grower Champagne from the Montagne de Reims.
Intense red fruit aromas, a hint of cherry, fresh grapefruit, followed by a subtle velvety mouthful. Perfect with spicy dishes with ginger, anise or citrus notes, salty sweet dishes or a fresh fruit salad. Peach pit, rhubarb pie, candied pomegranate and strawberry ice cream. Quite creamy and mouth-filling on the palate, this medium-bodied rosé is fleshy and quite fruity on the finish. Expressive and charming without being overly rich or sweet. 45% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot Meunier, 10% Pinot Noir
EPC, Brut Champagne Montagne de Reims Champagne, France $69
The first Champagne house with no family name!
A brand new concept and vision from a traditional region… So cool! A strong emphasis on traceability and collaboration with local growers rather than owning large vineyard estates. EPC operates as a “co‑creation” producer: they work closely with a network of independent winegrowers across Champagne, sourcing fruit from specific terroirs and then vinifying and aging the wines themselves. The grapes for “Brut” come from partner growers in Épernay. Bright and immediate, with aromas of lemon zest, yellow apple, and ripe pear, underscored by subtle notes of brioche, toasted bread, and a delicate mineral. 46% Meunier, 31% Pinot Noir, 23% Chardonnay.
