Battenfeld Spanier, Grüner Sylvaner, Trocken, Germany $22
Battenfield-Spanier in the Rheinhessen - in northern Germany. The grape Grüner Sylvaner is grown biodynamically, no pesticides or chemical fertilizer in the vineyard, no additives, or enhancements in the winery. Native yeast. Fermented and aged in stainless steel. Juicy and minerally with notes of grapefruit, fresh hay, thyme, and white flowers. Try it with A soft pretzel slathered with creme cheese!
Pikasi, Pinela, Slovenia $22
Matic Rodica was a professional ballroom dancer before he fell in love with the wines of his Slovenian homeland. Pikasi wines are naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts, inspired by dancing and movement. Pinela, a Slovenian grape varietal, grows on marl-based mountain tops aided by dry/hot summers and moderate winters. Bone dry with notes of Meyer lemons, and key lime. Perfect for pasta with fresh peas and mint.
Sanctum Lisica, Pinot Noir, Slovenia $24
Pinot Noir has been cultivated on the hills of Lipoglav, Lower Styria since the French monks planted them in the 12th century. The grapes of this wine were hand-harvested then destemmed and bottled unfiltered. Savory with complex notes of tomatoes, red chili flakes, basil, radishes, mossy earth, and cranberry. Pair it with a rainy day and a hearty stew with roasted veggies or smoked peppery sausages.
Bodegas Krontiras, Malbec, Argentina $24
Find these grapes growing right in the middle of the hills of Luján de Cuyo, in the province of Mendoza, out of sight from the world, The sacred geometry of the Krontiras location gently embraces the fruit of its biodynamic vineyards.. 100% Malbec grapes were carefully selected from the vineyards in Maipú and fermented in stainless steel tanks without the addition of sulfites at any stage of the vinification. Wild and brambly with notes of red and black berries.
