FUSO - Dario, “Cala” Bianco, Sicily Italy   $19

On northwest Sicilia there is a specific clone of Catarratto that's called Catarratto Extra Lucido (Extra Shiny Catarratto) which gives wines with more texture, depth, and color that the common Catarratto usually found throughout Sicilia. Dario is known for making highly drinkable and sea-breeze salty island wines. Pithy stone fruits, cantaloupe, dried citrus rinds, and sandalwood: the dried flowers on the nose extend into a long salty finish. It's on the edge between an orange wine and a white wine, with 50 hours on the skins.

Cellar Pardas, Rupestris Blanco, Catalunya Spain  $19

85% Xarel.lo: 15% Malvasia.

Rupestris evokes the strength of the rock, the purity of the earth, something primitive, rustic, wild, ancient and authentic”. This mouth-watering blend of native varietals: Xarel·lo and Malvasía has a refreshing chalky texture and persistent, pure citrus fruit on the finish. Organic and fermented in stainless steel. Then aged 3 months on the spent lees, (yeast) giving it a bit rounder of a mouthfeel.

De’Lr, “SO 2” Cabernet Franc, Chinon Loire Valley France  $26

Organic wine. No Sulphur Dioxide added.

A Cabernet Franc made without the commonly used additive of sulphur which occurs naturally in all wines but is used excessively as a preservative. Aaaaand, the wine is made from grapes grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, or herbicides in the vineyard. An atypical red wine that has a wild side and a dose of tannins. Full of character. A red wine you can all morning. : )
