Here is the Lineup!
Bonnet-Huteau, “Nuit Boreal” Sparkling Muscadet, $21
An elegant and refreshing white sparkling wine from the Loire Valley. A fun blend of two grape varieties with a predominance of 80% Chardonnay and a small amount 20% of Melon de Bourgogne. The vines are grown in appellation Muscadet Sevre et-Maine in a biodynamic vineyard. Offering a dense taste and clear structure, with great balance of fruit sweetness and acidity.
Mas des Caprices, Blanc de L’Oef, Corbieres, $25
The Cuvée Le Blanc de l'Oeuf expresses the balance and precision that define the wines of Mas des Caprices. Blanc de L'Oeuf is born from the blend of two traditional and regional grape varieties of Roussillon, Grenache Gris and Macabeu. A very special elevage for this wine, which takes place in an egg-shaped tank, which give the wine its name to this atypical cuvée. This particular shape gives this Corbières Blanc its fruity aromas and its particularly marked suppleness. The wines expresses itself in subtlety; the floral and fruity vivacity of its aromas is found in a balanced palate, where roundness and a certain fat diffuse in a frame imbued with a beautiful iodine freshness. A surprising and tasty Corbières Blanc, to discover.
Jean Yves-Millaire, Chateau Cavale, Bordeaux-Fronsac, $21
With Château Cavale, Jean-Yves Millaire has produced a full-bodied wine, as fleshy as it is fruity. This organic wine is above all a pleasure wine, well matured, which can be enjoyed on a daily basis as well as for a small occasion. The Merlot is pure and offers you all its fruit. Dark garnet, almost opaque in color. A Fresh and greedy nose, with intense notes of red fruits (blackberry, raspberry), white pepper. The palate is round, ample, fresh, tonic. The fruit, although omnipresent, remains pure and sober. The fine, silky texture on the attack gradually gains in intensity. Chalky tannins. A fine chew on the finish brings back the blackberry and pepper, which give way to spices and white pepper
Domaine Duseigneur, “Catarina” Châteauneuf-du-Pape, $49
The certified organic and biodynamic 2018 Châteauneuf du Pape Catarina is 90% Grenache and 10% Syrah, drawn from the lieux-dits of Colombis, Bois de la Ville and Grand Devès. Fermented in tank and matured in older demi-muids, it shows vibrant raspberry and cherry fruit on the nose, underscored by hints of garrigue and crushed stone. Medium to full-bodied, it’s ripe and silky in feel but not overly rich or round, making less of a cocktail wine than some, and easier to pair with food.
