Hot Hot Heat

Hot-Hot-Heat

81˚… Last Day of July

Wednesday is the day to fill the bathtub with cold water and get in with your clothes on. We will beat the heat by tasting wonderful wine! First, we dive into North America with our whites. A splash of fantastic rose from WA. Then we will wade into a white blend from OR. But we swim over the Mediterranean Sea for our next ones.  Fill your raft and float through Italy and Spain….

@ Humble Vine, Wednesday July 31st 4PM

Terra Blanca Rose, Red Mountain Washington $12

66% Sangiovese and 34% Cab Franc. Deep red Rosé with aromas of fresh strawberries, sweet red fruit, and slight rose petals. Candied cherry, unripe strawberry, and slight mineral on the palate. This mouthwatering acidity makes for a great summer wine.

Anne Amie, Amrita, Willamette Vcalley Oregon $15

WE love this. Wine. The name Amrita comes from the Buddhist equivalent of ambrosia, or a wine of the gods. This wonderful white has notes of raspberry, pie cherry, strawberries and cream, baking spice, blood orange, and black pepper! She has a long, dry, acid driven finish. With a pinch of bubbles? Outstanding!

Nada, Langhe Bianco, Piedmont Italy $19

Pale golden yellow. Intense and lovely, with the first sniff, quite surprising nose: ripe fruit, flowers, honey, gooseberries with their characteristic sweet-bitter notes, some fresh grass. The remarkable aromas remind me of Americana grapes. On the palate, the wine satisfies with a quite full body and a felicitous combination between delicate sweetness and supporting acidity. The finish is long and crisp.

Cellar de Capçanes , Mas Picosa ‘Flor en Flor’ Montsant Spain $16

MMM!!!! Blackberry pie berry aromas are more than abundant for this of Garnacha blend. Its linear, light-bodied palate is fresh while being viscous and rich. I love this winery. I visited last year. They also make our Slate/Limestone comic book paper wines….

Pelassa, “Corte Enrichetta” Langhe, Italy $19

A blend of the 2 most popular grapes from Piedmont: Barbera and Nebbiolo. The vines were hand harvested. They remove the stems, only soft press the grapes. The aged twelve months in stainless steel. Super cool. Big violets and raspberries on the nose and the body is medium.
