All of it @ Humble Vine, Saturday July 27th 4pm

Upsidedown Wines, Rescue Rose, Columbia Valley WA, $24

Nebbiolo sourced from the Horse Heaven Hills. This wine begins with aromatics of strawberry, guava, red cherry, and white peach. There are flavors of strawberry, red cherry, nectarine and starfruit. Lovely and refreshing. Seth, the extremely kind owner/winemaker from Upsidedown Wines, donates some proceeds to a charity with every label. This “Rescue” Rose donates to animal shelters.  Well played Seth! Well Played!

Baer Winery, “Shard” Unoaked Chardonnay 2016 $27

Amazing winemaker Erica Orr (Orr wines) comes this lively and refreshing Chardonnay. This is an all-stainless wine, NO OAK. An aroma of crisp nectarine is punctuated on the palate by gala apple, pear, and lush lemon curd. Sur lie aging with regular beat-downs (batonnage) adds a plush mouthfeel to a clean but satisfying finish.

Newsprint, Cabernet Sauvignon, Red Mountain $27

EXTRA EXTRA Read all about it! RED Mountain cab for under $30. This 100% Red Mountain Cabernet packs a whole lot of deliciousness in one heck of an affordable bottle. This wine features ripe fruit with hints of vanilla and wood smoke on the nose. The palate is super juicy, full of ripe dark berry, black cherry and plum jam flavors; these delicious fruits are complemented by a sprinkling of tannins aimed to give great structure to this wine.

Haden Fig, Bjornson Vineyard Pinot Noir $34

Set in the heart of the Eola Amity Hills, just south of the Seven Springs Vineyard, Bjornson Vineyard never fails to impress. Pattie and Mark Björnson’s meticulously managed, LIVE-certified sustainable operation continues to be our most fruit-forward source for Haden Fig and it leverages every bit of the liveliness at play in the slopes of Eola Amity. Reflecting the character of its environment, the 2014 Haden Fig Pinot Noir Bjornson Vineyard designate hints of wild

Eladio Piniero, “La Coartada” Red, Alentejo Spain $36

NERD ALERT! Eladio wanted to make red wine, and he knew Rias Baixas was not the place for it, so he bought an estate with vineyards near his holiday home in the Alentejo and made a red wine which is again about as far from an “industrial” wine as you can get. Four YEARS in new barrels, 3 years in stainless after that, at least six months in the bottle, no clarification, no fining etc. , designed to be drunk on release but will age effortlessly…The methods are somewhat evocative of López de Heredia (Rioja) in the sense that the wine is released when deemed ready to drink, while remaining capable of much longer aging. But the warmer Portuguese climate makes for a broader shouldered vein, not at all overripe but concentrated, minerally, and sublime. WHOAH!
