Washington WInes!!

WASHINGTON WINES!!!

Here we are in our own backyard. An excellent display of outstanding wines from the East side of the Pass. Our many rivers help to create a “diurnal shift”, keeping much of the vineyards cool at night as they roast in the day. This helps retain acidity in the grapes, and that makes Washington wines special and vibrant. A Pinot Grigio and a Chardonnay are up to bat for our whites. And 3 bodacious reds that are fine as frog’s hair! Come experience the great zest of Washington!

@ Humble Vine, Saturday July 13th. 4pm till the bottles run dry.

Lorelle, Pinot Grigio, Columbia Valley $11

Beautiful expression of lemon curd Asian pear, with fresh crisp acidity. From Horse Heaven Hills AVA. It has a bit of a blush, slight salmon color. The Palate offers White peach and apricot on the nose. Crisp and vibrant palate. Could anyone ask for more.

“Lu and Oly”, Chardonnay, Columbia Valley $16

Aromatically, this wine offers pear and traces of pineapple before giving way to a palate of green apple and ripe citrus. The mouthfeel is relatively full and displays richer apple and stone fruit notes. The finish has round, mouthwatering acidity.

Two Mountain, Hidden Horse Reserve #16, Zillah $17

I cannot seem to get over this fantastic wine. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc opens with rich aromas of dark fruits, tobacco and white pepper followed by flavors of blackberry, dark cherry and vanilla framed in toasty oak. Two Mountain is just one of our favorite wineries, and this Bordeaux blend will taste/tell you why.

Two Mountain, Copeland Vineyard Syrah, Zillah $25

Starts with forest floor on the nose, cherries, and licorice. The body is big and powerful with plums, cherries, cranberry, light guy vanilla, and strong tart wild raspberry. There is a light smoke on the finish but mostly fruit dominant with a whiff of Butter!

Stottle, Cabernet Sauvignon, Yakima $34

It is the culmination of a journey from grape to bottle. Dark fruit flavors of plum and black berries. Vanilla and a splash of blueberry pie are in the excellent finish. A big wine that is totally Washington style. Big and delightful!
