Shaya Verdejo White $15
The grapes for this wine come from 30.5 Ha. of low yielding old Verdejo vineyards. The vines are planted in very sandy soils with a top layer of small river gravels, to obtain a high level of complexity after the fermentation in stainless steel tanks equipped with temperature control.

Domaine Ciringa, “Fossilini Breg” Sauvignon Blanc, Slovenia $21
“Fosilni Breg“(which means fossils mountain) and has been available since 2009 on the market. The label on the Burgundy bottle shows a sea star fossil (found in the single vineyard Ciringa) and should demonstrate the origin and the balance of this mineralic and straightforward Sauvignon Blanc.
Plantaferro, Primativo $16
Primitivo, also known as Zinfandel, is a natural sponge-like grape, jam-packed with flavor after soaking up the sunshine. The immediate aroma is sweet, with upfront fruit dark berries, raisins, black cherry and red liquorish. It is very round with aromas and flavors of chocolate and anise. Soft sweet tannins add to its lushness.
Cellar de Capçanes, La nit de las Garnatxes Limestone 2015. $23
This Garnacha wine focuses on what high limestone content can give a wine – delicacy, elegance and subtlety in its structure, but with an underpinning of intense mineral character, that lifts and freshens the plum and cherry varietal character. It's part of an excellent series of wines showing the effect of terroir, but that aside, it's a wine of remarkable quality at its price.
Soos Creek, Sundance, Columbia Valley Washington $27
Cabernet Franc (54%) takes the lead on this blend, with the balance Merlot (29%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (17%). The aromas of flower, barrel spice and herb are light, with slightly dried-out raspberry and cherry notes lurking in the background. It also has a leathery top note. Flavors are super-smooth and palate-coating.
