@ Humble Vine, Saturday March 9th 4pm……
Tilia, Torrentes, Mendoza Argentina, $12
The Tilia wines are made at Bodegas Esmeralda in the Eastern region of Mendoza. Torrontes is indigenous to Argentina and has a unique profile that has quickly made it the country's signature white grape. The high-altitude vineyard sits incredibly high.
La Segrata, IL Bianco, Sicily Italy, $15
Wow, this one rocks. Gorgeous straw color, medium body. The nose is great, pear, yellow apple, fall spice, and vanilla. Palate shows racy tension with good central acid line balanced by a touch of sweetness and super ripe abundant fruit. Lots of apple and pear and soft but assertive acid. A crazy blend of rare grapes Grecanico and Fiano!
Eric Laguerre, EOS, Roussillon France 2016, $16
From 30% Grenache Blanc, 40% Maccabeo and 30% Rolle (Vermentino) grown on granite soils in Eric's high-altitude organic vineyards. this lovely wine even more distinctive, showing subtle aromas of dried pear, hay, citrus, herbs and stone. The palate is refreshing and clean with pear, citrus peel, almond, thyme and stone flavors, very crisp and dry and with nice density and length.
Two Mountain, Chardonnay – Rattlesnake Hills, WA 2016 $21
A classic Chardonnay with aromas of ripe apple and hay with hints of toast and vanilla followed by inviting flavors of overripe pears, coffee framed by subtle oak structure. I love Two Mountain wines, and this is the first one I ever tasted. Ahhh.
Efeste, “Sauvage” Sauvignon Blanc, Yakima WA $25
Seeing just a kiss of new oak (20%), this wine offers brooding aromas of spice, white flowers, tropical fruit and citrus. The palate is full of white-grapefruit flavors backed by a zing of tart acidity, with barrel spice flavors lingering on the finish. It shows a lot of tension.
