Thanksgiving Eve!!!

Thanksgiving 2019

Impress your friends and family with the true star at the table. WINE! We have put together a tasting with a classic lineup of perfect pairings for the diverse flavors we find at this time of year. We start with a Chablis that is racy, bright, and diverse. (the tasting is worth coming just for this!) We then jump into “The Best Chardonnay in the World”, says Ryan Ables. Rombauer!!! (the tasting is worth coming just for this!) And if you though you missed the Beaujolais Nouveau boat, don’t cry. We have it!!! (the tasting is worth coming just for this!) And we will put it up against a French Pinot from Burgundy. (the tasting is worth coming just for this!)  Then, might I say, the perfectly complex and interesting wine of the evening, Lemberger!! Woo Hoo!! (the tasting is worth coming just for this!) We cap the evening off with wine from the REAL serious folks at Nelms Road, the kid sister to Woodward Canyon, for a Cabernet Sauvignon. (the tasting is worth coming just for this!)

So, get here before it’s all gone!!!

@Humble Vine: Wednesday before Thanksgiving, 28th of November

4PM till we run dry….

William fever, Chablis Champs Royaux 2018 24

A nose of citrus fruits, flowers, green apple and flinty flavors of wet stone in the mid-palate with a beautifully clean finish. Fresh, supple, it is marked by mineral notes, typical of the appellation. A great match for roasted meats and Herbs!

Rombauer, Chardonnay, Napa California $48

The best Chardonnay in America! Aromas of yellow peach, mango with a slight citrus note intertwine seamlessly with vanilla and spice. The palate is rich and round, with the mango and vanilla fighting for the limelight, while the cream texture, vanilla and slight butter combine seamlessly. The balanced acidity closes out the finish bringing the multiple components into balance.

Vignoble Bulliat, Beaujolais Nouveau “Elf Socks” 2019, Beaujolais France $17

Here it is!!! Our Favorite Beaujolais Nouveau. The first pressing of this year’s harvest. These wines are ALWAYS the grape Gamay. Meant to be a celebration of season changing, harvest complete, a job well done, mother nature, and life as a community. Clipped, fermented and bottled only a few days ago! A simple wine. Elf Socks (no one calls it that but us), is dark and fruity compared to some of its challengers. Dry with cranberry zest and purple flowers. Get into the fresh.

Domaine De Rochebin, Bourgogne Pinot Noir, Burgundy France $23

With its purple color, this wine develops aromas of red and black fruits (strawberry, cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry) evolving towards the cooked prune and peppered nuances. In mouth it is structured and round. It will be best served with vegetables in salads, roasted poultry and stews.

Kiona Vineyards, Lemberger, Red Mountain Washington, $18

Named for the town Lemberg, Slovenia, this is a bright, medium-bodied wine. Kiona grows the most Lemberger in the state. This wine has notes of bright blueberries, ripe plums, and a buttery pie crust. It has a bright acidity and will be a perfect fit to the Thanksgiving feast.

Nelms Road, Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington $27

Great aromas of cedar spice and black cherries, plenty of body and berry fruit on the palate, with a soft and approachable middle. Pairs well with fruits and light dinners. This is a second label for Woodward Canyon!
