Wine Tasting: Spice of Life

The Spice of Life

Variety is the spice of life, and with this tasting we will visit a different country with each bottle. Italy, Portugal, Uruguay, Spain, France, and USA! These bottles should be boisterous with flavor and packed with enjoyment. We will try 3 fun “not reds” and 3 awesome reds.

Come and let us whisk you away on this whirlwind tour around the world!

@ Humble Vine, Wed January 16th, 4pm till the cows come home! (Cows come home at 8PM)

Cantina di Colli Euganei, Moscato, Veneto Italy $12

Mmmm. Sweet, aromatic and very persistent flavor. Pale yellow, persistent forth and refined bubbles. The flavor is a great example of the variety and quite intense.

Broadbent, Vinho Verde Rose, Portugal $10

Vibrant aromas and flavors of fresh strawberry, pomegranate and Orange zest are corralled by a pleasantly light spritz. This was our favorite win e this summer.

Bodega Garzon, Albarino, Uruguay $16

Straw gold in color, this Albariño surprises with a fresh and vibrant sensation of tropical fruits in the nose with subtle floral notes. On the palate, it expresses a round and fresh body with a salty and mineral combination. A wine with a marked sense of terroir.

Vina San Juan, Tempranillo, La Mancha Spain, $!5

The region of La Mancha became known thanks to the legendary novel character Don Quixote. Today, the region is famous for its high-quality wine production. This bottle shows shiny cherry red with violet shades. Intense aroma of berries, flowers and a hint of vanilla. On the palate the taste of ripe plums and blackberries with very gentle and balanced tannins.

Schoenheitz, Pinot Noir “Herrenreben”, Alsace France $19

Spectacular Pinot Noir from Alsace purchased in Strasbourg. Ruby red color. The aroma simply sensational, full of plum, blackberry and cassis. To the perfect palate, an explosion of flavors, with adequate acidity. Tannins moderate and prolonged finish. Great harmony with Brie cheese and apple!

Finn Hill, “L’Abime” Syrah, Columbia Valley Washington $30

Your nose is greeted with aromas of red fruit jam, potpourri, cigar box, and saddle leather, with hints of eucalyptus and grilled meat.  On the palette this 100% Syrah delivers freshness and medium body, featuring flavors of red plum, and baking spice, and with suggestions of black olive and bramble.  The finish is balanced, with moderate acidity and smooth, cherry-skin tannins.
