Olde Burien Bloc Party
@ Humble Vine Wine Shoppe
A party just for us In Olde Burien. One of our favorite events of the year. Last year we were almost ready to open our doors, but not quite…. We really wanted to have our grand Opening during the Olde Burien Block Party but we only had about 20 wines on our shelves!!! (We opened for a spell anyway) Well, we are ready for ya this time!!!
We will taste a few Humble Vine favorites. Hows’ about few French Roses’? One sparkling one still. Then, we show off a few “chilled” wines. A deep red Sparkling wine made of Gamay. Sooo Good…. And a regional grape Lemburger…no not the cheese, totally different. We wrap it up with a pair of old favorites : Auspicion Mystic Red, a Zin Blend from Lodi , and Our most favorite local boys Kerloo with their Majestic GSM blend. So, come on up and knock em down!!
Saturday July 21st. All Day
Domaine de Couron, Rose, Rhone France $11
Soft and stylish with an endlessly refreshing palate of summer cherry, watermelon and passion fruit flavors. Clean with good fruit-filled body and a dry finish-100% Grenache. Superior value!
Domaine J. Laurent, Cotes de Limoux Rose, France $19
A delicious sparkling rose, this selection is one of Domaine J Laurens' most popular selections. This light rose hued champagne is crisp and refreshing, with an aroma and palate that is bursting with fresh fruit. Perfect for pairing with smoked salmon and other hors d'ourves.
Two Mountain, Lemberger!, Washington $15
Inviting flavors of pepper, fig and boysenberry mesmerize your nose while your palate is entertained with pepper, white pepper and raspberry with the slightest hints of vanilla that frame this delightful wine.
Domaine Patrice Colin, “Perles Rouges” Sparkling Gamay, France $19
This is a red "pét-nat" wine made using the old sparkling method in which the wine is given its first and only fermentation in bottle. It's a simple method that produces large bubbles. It is stalky with acidity and a smoky character that contrasts with red fruits. The aftertaste is crisp and fresh.
Auspicion, Mystic Red (Zin Blend), California $13
Auspicion is the award-winning proprietary label created by Opici Wines that pays homage to the history of genuine California winemaking. Fresh and fruit-forward selections are produced using grapes sourced from the finest vineyards across northern California. Mystic Red is the third installment to the brand and is sure to delight every consumer palate.
Kerloo, Majestic (GSM), Washington $26
On the nose you get leather, black cherries, plums, black pepper, and earth. On the palate it's bright and spicy with salty red cherry notes (I know, just trust us on that one), dusty roses, tobacco, light baking spices, and wet minerals. The mouthfeel is smooth and silky. Your mouth is left watering for more. Pair this lovely GSM blend with pretty much anything.
