Tillia Torrentes, Salta Argentina, $12
The nose offers aromatic notes white flower and citrus fruits. On the palate, fresh flavors of white peach and lemon give way to grapefruit, and fennel. It finishes with a refreshingly bright acidity.
Two Mountain Rose, Yakima WA, $16
This Rosé opens with aromas of strawberry, raspberry and hints of floral followed by flavors of cranberry, strawberry and rhubarb with wonderfully firm acid on the finish. Excellent.
Secret Squirrel White, Walla Walla WA, $22
Secret Squirrel's new white wine is a blend of traditional Rhone grape varieties Roussanne, Viognier, Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Picpoul Blanc, and Clairette Blanche - not unlike a Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc. The texture is very soft, and there are flavors of apricots, bosc pears, galangal root, with hints of cracked white pepper and roasted nuts. It finishes dry and clean, with a little minerality.
Don Rodolfo, Malbec , Mendoza Argentina, $14
An intense ruby red color with violet flashes. Aromas of berries, cassis and plums. This Malbec is a burst of dark cherry and blackberry with a rich, plush finish. A fresh malbec with blackberries and dried herbs on the nose. Clean, fun and fruity. Drink now.
Two Mountain, Hidden Horse Re No. 15, Yakima WA $17
I cannot seem to get over this fantastic wine. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc opens with rich aromas of dark fruits, tobacco and white pepper followed by flavors of blackberry, dark cherry and vanilla framed in toasty oak. Two Mountain is just one of our favorite wineries, and this Bordeaux blend will taste/tell you why.
Structure, Cab Franc, Columbia Valley WA, $27
On the nose look for blueberry, raspberry, sage, thyme, coriander and fresh turned earth. What an amazing softness and smoothness on the palate. Blueberry, lavender, thyme and sawdust come through and is never too punchy with tannins. The finish holds up this complex wine with grace and balance. If there ever was a wine that should be savored…
