Wine Tasting

Mouth Bruisers

If you like tame, wimpy, or soft wines, stay home and watch TV on Saturday. Because we are bringing in the goons…the fighters…the beefcakes…the Mouth Bruisers.  All these wines punch back in a way that will make you call your momma and tell her who hurt you.  But these wines are also world renowned; 90+ points for most of them. If you want to join a fight club that likes wine, come in Saturday and set your pallet up fer’ a bruisin… We will ring our bells with an Aussie Shiraz, a French Malbec, an Argentina Malbec, a Toro Tempranillo, a Yakima Blend, and an Italian Amarone Della Valpolicella. DAAAAANG!!!

Opaque ruby. Spice-accented dark berries and fresh flowers and a hint of olive on the perfumed nose. Shows very good energy and focus to the spicy black raspberry and boysenberry flavors and puts on weight with air. Seamless and concentrated yet lively; the long, gently tannic finish is enlivened by mineral and floral nuances.

Chateau de Haute-Serre Cahors Malbec 2014 $27

Malbec and Merlot matured in vats. Well-built and powerful, the tannins are ripe and velvety. Very dark color with carmine highlights and a wonderfully complex and powerful bouquet of Morello cherry, blackcurrant, and spices. The freshness and fruitiness on the nose carry over beautifully to the palate, which has a long, silky aftertaste. 94 pts wine spectator.
