Wine Tasting SPAIN!

As a wine country, Spain is the third largest producer in the world. They grow over 400 grapes but rely on about 15 for all major production of fine wine. The country is diverse in peoples and flavors. Spain is the number 1 country with percentage of land covered in vines, and the world’s number 1 in organic wine production with more than 80,000 hectares registered and documented for organic production. Come enjoy the lineup from all over the country.

Vega Medien, Cava Selección Especial Seco, Catalonia NV

Cava pale yellow, bright and friendly bubble. In the nose displays intense aromas of ripe white fruit with subtle citrus notes. On the palate it is long, sweet and complex, inviting a second drink.

Viña Almirante, Albarino Pionero Mundi, Rias Baixas, Galicia 2015

This wine is refreshing, full of juicy peach, orange peel, and soft florals. Invitingly aromatic, it lingers in the palate. Creamy, waxy notes on the nose alongside citrus freshness and fresh cut herbs. Very silky palate lined with lemon curd and citron peel, showing a tart freshness

Bodegas Carchelo, 'Carchelo C', Jumilla, Murcia 2016

Intense and complex, full of fruity notes, highlighting aromas of both black and red berries that add to the spicy notes acquired during the 6 months of rest in barrel, with hints of cedar and roasting. Surprising, for its smoothness and balance, as for the presence of subtleties of aroma in the mouth. Harmonic, fresh, with a huge and delicate persistence.

Cellar Pinol, Ludovicus Tinto, Terra Alta Catalonia, 2016

An amazing wine made from 100% Grenache organically farmed and aged four months in French and American cooperage. Exuberant black cherry/kirsch liqueur notes, medium to full body, terrific purity and exuberance. This is a delicious bistro-style fruit bomb that is pure and succulent. Talk about hedonism! Drink it over the next several years.

CVNE, Crianza, La Rioja 2014

Bright cherry color with some violet nuances. In the nose, red berries aromas remain over the oaky and balsamic notes from its ageing in wood. It shows an elegance in the mouth, yet very lively, with some spice back notes and a very balanced acidity.

Bodegas Izadi, Rioja Reserva 2012

Youthful and bright, this wine’s plump cherry fruit fills its austere structure, with plenty of oak tannins to hold it in place. Unusually fresh for the vintage, relatively light, raspy and firm, this offers a hint of sweetness in the fruit to make the structure more accommodating.
