Full Bodied Reds

 

A few days (or weeks) from that sweet summer sun. Kick the clouds away with these awesome and richly crafted wines. Let's taste some bottles that are full bodied and full flavored, like Zinfandel, Syrah, and Cab. These guys will keep us warm till the sun hangs in the sky just a bit more. Enjoy these "warmers" on Wednesday, April 4th, 4pm till 8pm.

 

Auspicion, Mystic Red, California, 2015 $13

This wine that homage to the history of genuine California winemaking. Fresh and fruit-forward selections are produced using grapes sourced from the fi nest vineyards across northern California. Mystic Red is the third installment to the brand and is sure to delight every consumer palate. 55% Zinfandel, 27% Merlot, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon

 

 

Kamiak, Rock Lake Red, Washington, 2014 $14

Aromas of smoked anise, violets, rose petal and cherry with hints juniper berry. Soft and silky with flavors of bright fruit with black pepper. Firm tannins with a lingering plum finish. 55% Merlot, 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Malbec, 2% Syrah, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Tempranillo

 

Fidelitas, M100 Red, Columbia Valley, 2016 $18

Fidelitas is a boutique winery located on the slopes of the Red Mountain AVA led by owner and winemaker, Charlie Hoppes, an acclaimed Columbia Valley vintner whose first crush in Washington was in 1988. Charlie works in partnership with Washington’s finest growers to capture the distinct character of the vineyard and the purest expression of the fruit. Fidelitas wines are handcrafted and aged in small lots, showing exceptional character, varietal expression and structure.

 

Ded Reckoning, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2014, $21

Produced by Scott Greer at Sheridan Vineyard using 100% estate grown Cabernet. This ever-popular Cabernet has classic Sheridan fruit with layers of black fruits, tobacco, coffee and that very distinctive note of citrus rind that is a trademark of this exotic and exclusive vineyard. An amazing value.

 

Bastide Miraflors, Roussillon, 2015 $18

This wine is almost too good to be true. A blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache that was brought up in concrete tank. Domaine Lafage is housed in their facility just outside the city of Perpignan. One of the most advanced wineries in the region, Jean-Marc and his wife Elaine are crafting "must buy" wines from the region of Roussillon. The Bastide Miraflors is a blend of Syrah and old-vine Grenache. The vineyards for this wine are practicing organic with an average vine age of 55 years.
